Super hero films of 2013

The third in the series of the Iron man Films where Robert Downey Jr’s Tony Stark battles with the formidable Mandarin. Iron man 3 has already started strongly at the Box office around the world I am sure plans are in place for a fourth installment in the series.

Man of Steel is a reboot of the Superman franchise and stars Henry Cavill as Clark Kent / Superman. Man of Steel brings back a foe from the original series of films in General Zod and is slated for a June 14^th Release.

The Wolverine is the sixth X-men film as part of the series and the second focusing on life of Logan/ Wolverine. This film is set sometime after the events which happened in X-men- the last stand. The Wolverine is due to be released on July 24^th.

In many years there is an overwhelming favourite to take a number of the awards however this year it was expected to be one of the most open. The 2013 oscars didn’t disappoint either with six different films taking the big six awards and not one film dominated the night.

Life of Pi was the most successful film of the night with 4 awards including one of the big six with Ang Lee winning Best director. The other three awards it won were best original screenplay, Best Cinematography and best visual effects.  Argo picked up best Picture and also best editing and best adapted screenplay for it’s story of the covert operation to bring to an end the Iran Hostage crisis.

Christopher waltz picked up Best supporting actor for Django unchained which also picked up best original screen play. Anne Hathaway picked up Best supporting actress for her part in Les Miserables which also picked up best hair and makeup as well as best sound mixing.

Daniel Day-Lewis picked up best actor for his portrayal of Abraham Lincoln in the film, Lincoln. Lincoln also won best production design. The best actress Oscar went to Jennifer Lawrence for the Silver linings playbook. There was a tied award with both Zero Dark thirty and Skyfall sharing the best sound editing award and Adele picked up best original song for Skyfall.

The 2013 Oscars had a good range of winners throughout the night. The other winners were:

• Best costume design – Anna Karenina
• Best Short – Curfew
• Best Documentary short – Inocente
• Best Foreign film – Amour (Austria)

Main Duties

Finer Details

This role will be based in our office in Sheffield. Salary will be between £17 – 20k dependent upon experience plus uncapped commission if targets are hit. Working hours are 9am – 5:30pm but on occasions may require extra hours due to events and travel. There will be an obligation to go to a minimum of 4 networking events each month.
